Maryland United FC welcomes Denison Cabral as our Girls Youth Technical Director.


Denison Cabral is a native of Florianopolis, Brazil.  His 18 year playing career, took him to 16 different countries to play and train in both soccer and futsal.  He is recognized as one of the most popular players in the history of professional indoor soccer in Baltimore.  Since 2006, he has been President and Director of Coaching at his Denison Cabral Futsal Academy (DCFA), working with players from age 3 to 19, boys and girls.  The DCFA is known as the powerhouse of Futsal in the region and the club’s teams compete at the highest levels around the country.

Cabral began playing professional Futsal in Brazil at the age of 15 for S.E.R. Sadia and Palmeiras Futsal Clubs and ventured to the United States in 1994.  Becoming a U.S. citizen in 2007, he went on to captain the US Futsal National Team at the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup.  Cabral was the first coach in the Region to take a US youth club futsal team to the MECCA of FUTSAL (Brazil) and participate in an International Futsal tournament and a week of training, finishing in second place with Flamengo DCFA Girls U13’s.


While playing indoor soccer, Denison held the distinction of being the face of the Baltimore Blast (MISL) franchise.  Cabral is a six-time League All Star and is the all-time leading point scorer in Baltimore's franchise history with more than 920 points in his Indoor Soccer carrier. Denison ranks 25th in the all-time history of indoor soccer in points. In the 2002-03 seasons, he won his first Championship and was named MVP of the 2003 Finals after leading the Blast with 14 points in the playoffs. Cabral earned six All-Star honors and five Championships with the Baltimore Blast franchise wearing the number 5 jersey.
